Apparently, dogs are capable of being faithful to their owners. Maybe it’s because of how owners treat them, for example, by giving them shelter and food, showing them love and affection, taking care of them as a real family member, and all.
One evening, the Dominican Republic police department arrested a violator for breaking a local curfew protocol. The said law was implemented a month ago to control the flock of people going outside their homes during the coronavirus pandemic.
The violator was handcuffed and taken to the police station for documentation. There, the police officers witnessed an unexpected visitor who purposely went inside. It was the man’s dog who pleaded for his owner’s release. The dog was very persuasive in convincing the authorities to let go of his owner.
Seeing the dog’s devotion to the man, police authorities considered letting him off with a warning instead of keeping both of them apart.
Here’s a video of the moment the man’s dog entered the police station and appealed for his release.
The police colonel of the station, José Francisco De La Cruz Mercedes, explained why he let go of the said violator. He said the dog came in and convinced him that the man belonged to him. Mercedes added that it was his first time to have surrendered a detainee to a dog.
Thanks to the man’s faithful pup, he wasn’t held for a very long time. The dog’s request had worked. It was undeniable how happy the pup was after his appeal had been granted. If it wasn’t for him, otherwise, his beloved owner had to face the consequence he deserved for violating the law.
The man was one lucky guy ever to have such a faithful friend. Hopefully, he has gotten lessons from his mistake and never does it again in the future.
